Getting your boat out of storage

 In Uncategorized

A Storage in San Mateo storage unit is a great place to keep smaller boats during the off season. Your boat will not have to take up room in your garage or driveway. The warmer weather is here and now you can pull your boat out of storage and get it ready to be used all summer. A boat needs to be checked out and inspected to see if anything has been damaged and needs to be repaired. If any repairs need to be done do this before beginning getting it ready for a day on the water.

Once any repairs have been completed the next step is to check your battery. Sometimes a boat battery may need to be charged or even replaced after a long period of inactivity. Add Some fresh fuel to your tank and some fuel additive if you did not when placing the boat in storage. Check your engine and all other parts like the spark plug and gauges to ensure they are all working properly and that everything sounds the same as it did last year.

After you know everything is in good condition you can restock your boat. Putting back all of the proper boating equipment before your first trip can help you not forget any vital equipment. Make a checklist of everything you want on your boat. This could include: ropes, tubes, wake-boards, water skis, gloves, life jackets, pool noodles, and other flotation devices. Getting out into the middle of a body of water then realizing you forgot the tubing rope is not a good situation to be in. Being prepared can help you make the first boat day run smoothly.

We hope you enjoy your time on the water and make lasting memories with your friends and family. Then at the end of the summer you can place your boat back in storage and not have to worry about it for the rest of the winter.
